Getting the buggy ready for the beach.
« on: March 11, 2008, 01:00:55 PM »
Hi All,

Well its time to get last years sand out of the buggy and make sure everything is ready to hit the beach.

Mine is just about there.  I have posted a few pictures so you can see how mine looks and if you have any pics of your buggy please post as maybe we can all learn new ways of consolidating our gear.

I have to mention if you carry a fire extinguisher as most of us do that make our home IBSP it is time to check the gauge on it to make sure it is in working order.  Plus, slowly turn it upside down about 10 times to fluff up the powder on the inside as it has a tendency to become packed due to vibrations of the vehicle.

Sorry for the lousy picture I will have to retake a couple but you get the idea.

I carry a 30' snatch strap and a good first aid kit, a small shovel as well as a larger full size one.  All fit into a rubbermaid container except the full size shovel.  I carry two 1/2 inch aluminum plates 12 x12' to put under the jack.

Plus as IBSP is a carry in and carry out park make sure you have garbage bags ready.

I hope this helps...

Happy Catching

Paul

You're supposed to drive on the beach, not in the water.  rofla

The cooler is up front...

I just replaced my breaks this year for the first time (2000 medel).  Each time I get off the beach I give her a good hosing to get the sand and the salt off all areas including the undercarrage.  I also give my rods and reels a gentle wash down as well.

I know that is why I keep mentioning it.

I guess I will have to either make my own or see how much it is to have one made.  I have a flag company in the next town.
