A Tip to ensure all Mainenance is done on Your Boat
« on: January 29, 2008, 03:47:53 PM »
Was just going over my maintenance log and thought I would share my system, which was taught to me by my Dad.

In addition to my fishing log, I keep a detailed maintenance log for every season. The last section of this log is a list of projects, things that to be repaired/replaced before the next season launching. I put in everything including painting the bottom, also what I will need to complete the project/repair..

This list is the last thing completed before coming out of the water and the first thing brought out before preparing for the next season. Does not take a lot of time, and has made the preparation for the next season a breeze and nothing gets over looked. And does save making several trips to the local boat shop because you forgot things.

Worked for my Dad, works for me, hopefully will help you TT^

Brian

Good Luck with her, hope the decks get bloody on the first trip.......... TT^ TT^ TT^ TT^

The best thing you can do is keep up on the maintanence and the records.....makes life a whole lot easier for you, and when you go to sell the boat (to upgrade for your bigger one) you'll have no problems with the buyer t^

Will be very helpful tip.
Thanks t^
A good day of fishing is better than a bad day of fishing. A bad day of fishing is better than a good day of work. That means work sucks!

We keep the name, date, amount and phone number of all purchases. Many times somebody wants to know who rebuilds starter moters or stocks special fittings and it makes for quick reference.

I have one folder set up, then I put everthing related to "Peggy Lee" in that folder;insurance, maintenance, repairs, things to do list, bills and stuff. If I need something, I go to the file. Also make a To Do List each year and try to folow it.Post it on the inside of the shed door, grab my tools and go.
