Cape May/NW in January

Friends, my two brothers and I are taking a weekend to getaway from our wives. We're staying at my place in North Wildwood.

Is there ANY fishing to be had (even out back)? 

I know the stripers are gone but any recommendation would be appreciated.

I would imagine you could still catch some BIG blackfish down there Even with reduced bag limit, you should still do well.

Look up Steve London of Stanley Rose charters.

It is a No frills, bare bones, bring your own gear kind of charter, but he will put you on big fish for sure.

FYI, You can still catch stripers off the surf.  At least up here you can.  Last week they were being caught off IBSP,  mostly shorts but at least they are still around.

Water is starting to clear nicely from the following weeks blow so it should be OK for a while.

Paul, we'll toss some clams beyond the first set of waves and we'll see what happens!

I think you should do pretty good if the weather holds for you.  This weekend should be decent in the high 50's.

If you have top water plugs give it a try as well.

try slaughter beach in cape may next to the coast guard station.

its not the best time of year, but its still worth a try.

I know this thread started in January but just remember guys that you can't target striper's till March 1st in the back bays and estuaries.
