 ok, its getting near the end, and the start of stormy season, and we're in the need of a trailer.
 
 looking to get new, dont want someones headache.

 where did you all buy yours at and how was the service?

I always see ALOT of trailers down at Margos Marina in Barnegat. I'm not sure if they are new or not though but might be worth looking into.

I thought Margo's closed down..  I would go to Hect Trailer, they will custom make anything for you.

I used to go there all the time when we had our shore house in Manahawkin... If I am not mistaken, its was also called Family Boat Sales right before the Manahawkin bridge.  i was down there 2 weeks ago and it looked like a new building was being put up.  Not sure if its the same place with the same owners because it wasn't finished as of yet.

gottcha...  I know Margos very well, thats why I caught that one.  I don't remember them having trailers there.  I did notice the Wave runner rental in front of it is still there.  Whatever they make out of that place, it sure looks nice..  It looks kinda big for a marina, but who knows.  I remember Margo's being for sale a few years ago.  I was interested in buying it.  Owning a marina is my dream...  I just love being around it, even when not fishing...  It was priced real high for an old place...

I agree the new building looks kinda fancy...dunno what thats all about.

I bought a Long Mfg Co galvanized new many yrs ago @ Dosil's in Middletown. Always worked well except ya gotta throw taillights at it every few yrs. Now I'm in the market for another and I will check there again. They got parts & service as well but never needed it.

I would also give Camp Marine a try in Pt. Pleasant.  He was always fair to me on parts.

What does a typical trailer run for a 21' 2500ish lb boat?

GradyWhite told me the trailered weight for my '92 24' explorer walkaround w/ 225hp 2strk OB was approx 6800lbs. Seems high to me, but I guess add gas and water and ice and sodas and all the fish I catch    and Mike you may want to check your #s for your 21? I know CC's are lighter but maybe a bit low? Just a thought..

MIne is listed as 200 w/ engine.


it wouldn't really be to tow, but for winter storage and emergency towing.

I don't think I am going to buy one (not now anyway, maybe when I have a house and somewhere to store the boat).

Just curious as to what they would run.

Stay away from Tide Water trailers, I have one and think they are built very cheap.

I paid around $3200 for a new 5 Starr trailer same as a LOADRITE rated at 4700 lbs good for a 23' boat. Double axle, four disc brakes, rollers, I bought it at Camp Marine in Pt Pleasant. They are nice guys.

my buddy is selling one , good shape might hold up to a 19 footer I think he wants $475.00
