This was sent to me from the marketing dept. of Shimano. I won't be able to make it, but I thought it would be of interest to some of you. Looks like fun!

SHIMANO FISHING TOUR STOP
IRVINE, Calif. 4/08 -- Northeast anglers have the opportunity to learn about new fishing techniques and tackle when the Shimano Fishing Tour makes a stop at Waterfront Marine in Somers Point, N.J. on Saturday, April 19.
Hosted by Tackle Direct - the ‘World’s Premier Fishing Outfitter’ - and the Ocean City Marlin Tuna Club, the free day-long event will include seminars, tackle displays, and a full staff of expert anglers from Shimano, the Ocean City club and Tackle Direct to answer questions on local techniques and equipment.
“We’re bringing some of the region’s most knowledgeable anglers, including Capt. Chris Gatley on Butterfly jigging, and Len Belcaro from Big Game Fishing Journal on reading satellite imagery for the morning line-up,” said Doug Rusch with Shimano. “And in the afternoon, Pete Barrett, the retired editor at The Fisherman, will talk about striper trolling strategies, followed-up by Captain Jimmy Gahm giving his thought on modern canyon fishing techniques.”
Rusch adds that both Shimano and Tackle Direct staffers will be ready to explain everything about Shimano’s new Lucanus Jigging System for bottom fishing. “Tackle Direct has all the new Lucanus System products available, including jigs, Tescata rods, the new Calcutta CTE400LJV reels, along with wind-on leaders, extra jig trailers, skirts and hooks.”
The Tour stop will run from 9 am until 5 pm at Waterfront Marine, 1 Goll Avenue in Somers Point, N.J. For direction and other information, call Tackle Direct at 888/35-4REEL, or on the web at
