Flounder Reports 3/31 & 4/1

On Monday, March 31st, Angela Rose Charters hosted John, Bert, and Rich for a 1/2 day flounder trip. John ventured back out with us with some new company to try and swing a few flats. It was unfortunate that the mud backs were lock jawed with the upcoming storm. We saw water temps climbing to almost 50 degrees and that still had the fish digging down. We did raise two fish off the bottom with one of them close to 16 inches. 
 
 On Tuesday, April 1st, Angela Rose Charters hosted John S. on a full day of flounder charter. John braved the elements as 30+ knot winds ripped thru the upper bay. With several drops there, we decided to shoot north to the river where we would be better sheltered from the wind. After making a handful of drops in several locations, the flat backs still did not want to comply. About midday, torrential downpours dumped on us but Jon, being the trooper that he is, battled it to the last second. As quoted," It's not always the number of fish you catch but the people your around that makes fishing fun!" Aye Aye John!

hard year so far ,glad you are putting fish in the box but I have a feeling you are gonna be needing some asprin sat.

I don't know about asprin. I think its a mix between this passing front (already passed) and the moon phase.. new moon and 30 knot winds... that'll drive almost anyfish into the mud... Before the front, we had a couple good bites on the right tide and then like a switch, they went lockjaw... It's a slump that will improve little by little..

yeah Kevin I remember that one, to quote Anthony on the radio "Hey Allen, I gotta show you something, stay where you are.."  And here comes the cat, full bore 200 yards to me, he pulls up, and slings a freakin' black and yellow banana at the boat, nearly missing and hitting the water with a plop (poor arm strength) - needless to say we went fishless the rest of the day...   

LOL  So no bananas, EVER!
