Sandy Hook or Cape May???
« on: April 07, 2008, 10:30:54 AM »
I have no bass tourny this Sunday so I was thinking of hitting the surf.  It's been a while and I haven't caught anything in the surf for a long time (I'm still working on my fly casting bngh).  I'm torn between the long drive up to Sandy Hook or the shorter drive to the Cape May/Wildwood area.  Any suggestions to which I should hit?

Cape May.

Reports seem to be a little better there.

I haven't really heard any decent reports from the surf at either spot. Pretty much a crap shoot at this point. I would go for the shorter ride.

Pretty much back bay right now I am thinking. Perhaps split the difference and hit Graveling Point near Tuckerton. Check the last page from this topic and perhaps get in contact with Whiskers. http://njsaltwaterfisherman.com/forums/index.php?topic=2268.60

Cape May area would be your best bet as they will be coming up from that area.  If you have access to p Corsons S.P.  I heard there might be solme action there.

Let us know how you do.

I just got a heads up that there was some type of oil washed up at IBSP.  I will have to check it out and post later today.

Happy Catching

I looked up directions to Corsons and Graveling Point and Corsons is about an hour ride and Graveling Point is about an hour and twenty minutes.  I hate going to new places because it takes me an hour to figure out a spot to fish! Thanks guys.

How far in do flounder and stripers come this time of year?
