I have seen many commercial fish scents over the years with garlic flavor, so fish must like almost as much as us Italians... I never tried it, but I suspect with my diet I leak enough garlic juice outta my pores to provide flavor when handling baits!

as far as the diamond pattern goes, i guess i'm just used to it. but it does work. my dad also experimented with food coloring too, lt green, pink, etc, the squid really holds the color well

the cannolli doesnt hold on the hook well, the meatballs make good chum though, and we all know how many people are "sleeping with the fishes", i wonder what kind of chum that makes for.
