Reel Class Flounder 4/12
« on: April 12, 2008, 08:55:32 PM »
First trip of the season, had Jeremiah, Juicebox AKA Bobby Brown, Shelly, Dave, and "Dubya" Push aboard today for the flundies.

First drop, nada. Second drop, 7 fish in the box in about 90 minutes. Tide crapped out, we swung, bite completely died. Made 6 more drops, all of which were in the Manasquan River, and subsequently we had zero flounder bites throughout the rest of the day.

Weather wise, we had the freakin' gamot. It was sunny and 65 when we left the dock, by the time we got to drop #2 the temp dropped a solid 15 degrees w/ the onshore wind, then suddenly switched back to the SW and the temp went back to 75. Thunderstorms also made the afternoon interesting, as did the loony tune dropping the M-80's in the river

Tough day, wish we had more fish. Wound up with just 7 keepers to 1.5#. Jeremiah was high hook w/ 4 fish including a double header, I think Dave had the best fish at about a pound and a half.

Back at it tomorrow, hope its better than today.

Good job Capt. At least you didn't get the skunk for your first outting of the year.  t^
I heard from others that the weather went a little haywire today. Not a thing you can do to regulate that.
