CT River Stripers
« on: May 21, 2008, 09:30:06 AM »
Got an invite to fish with Capt. Matland & Capt. Anderson on the CT River yesterday 5/20. Blaine had the hot hand in the am doing great as usual with the big plastic Houdini Shad till he had to bail and go to work at the shop. Eric and I hit the river hard in the afternoon casting a variety of lures including my new surface poppers. We did pretty well with the heavy overcast skies which made the fish cooperate all day even in the shallower areas.

Not a lot of huge fish as of yet but some respectable fighters to 35". Most of the fish were schoolies and small keepers but the were feisty and a blast to watch blowup on the topwater stuff!

Here's a few pics...

There's a fine line between fishing and just standing on the shore like an idiot
