This week the trophy striped bass fishing started up in a big way. Regulars Jay
Simmons and Ernie Rosenburg were aboard for a carreer day with each of them
boating there limits of the biggest  stripers that they ever caught . Ernie was
first on the board with a nice 28lber, even before he could catch his breathe he
was back into another 32lber on a somewhat light tackle snagging rod for a very
sporty battle! Not to be out done Jay was up next and fast into a nice 25lber ,
what seemed like only minutes after boating his fish Jay was back into another
nice 24lb striper! The guys also swung on a few other fish that didn't find the
hook point , Regular Chris Spring was back out the next day for hopes of the
same action , but the bunker schools were harder to locate and seemed more
spread out than the day before and the bass were even harder to locate. Glenn
Deahnke along with son Brian and friend Paul were out for a backbay trip finding
plenty of action with 1-3lb blues on light tackle
,the guys also released real nice blackfish and fluke .
Best Regards
Capt. Steve Purul

Fishing Sandy Hook and anywhere I can get on a boat.

My biggest fear is when I die my wife sells all of my fishing tackle for what she thinks I paid for it!
