Raritan Bay Stripers 5/28
« on: May 29, 2008, 10:23:28 AM »
First trip out this year. got some bunker in GK, although they were tough to find. Headed out to Old Orchard. Fished the outgoing, good steady action all night. 2 bass in the 27 pound range, 2 in the 15 pound range, and lots of nice blues.  One of the bass had a tag in it, but I can't read the number to call. I thinks it's one of the Chesapeke tags, I saw one last weekend that a guy at the ramp caught.  Anyone have the phone number to call?  Also, a guy at the ramp in Keport told me he trolled up some real nice bass yesterday on shad rigs. Catch em up.

Good report.

I picked up some light colored Storms that look tasty.

Suggestions to get them down?
I was thinking a drail or maybe a 3way with a light sinker?

Drail, but a weighted shad rig will get down fairly deep by using braid. I also add a 3oz spoon down the middle and that will help too.
