NY NJ line??
« on: June 08, 2008, 10:41:21 AM »
I am looking at the 12327 chart online but I can't seem to find where nj ends and ny starts. If I'm at romers is that all nj? And what about  the east and west banks? Does anyone know where the line runs. Maybe a chart that shows the seperation....thanks alot.
I would hate to be caught with a third fish with my bonus tag in NY. Or with the wrong sized fish.

According to the April 3, 2008 issue of The Fisherman the line is defined on the Home Port Chart #42. This chart is available at tackle shops that can be found on their website www.homeportcharts.com
It is as follows:
A line  from the flashing marker at Great Beds (N40 29.203, W74 15.188), NE 082ยบ through the Romer Shoal Light (N40 30.777, W74 00.821) and continuing across Ambrose Channel.
From there runs parallel to channel (on the NY side) in a SE line out 3 miles to federal waters.

This info took me some time to find as no one seemed to know tha answer. A very helpful sales person at West Marine called Karen who works at The Fisherman and she was kind enough to give me a back issue.

Thanks Hotrod
Hmmm   looks like I may have been a bad boy.  This pic is hard to tell where the line is, but it's better than what I have so far.   Anyone have anything better that I can get in a little closer? It looks like it cuts right thru romers.
