Well, I got up early and was getting ready for school, and looked up the weather and decided, this isnt the kind of weather I want to fly in. So I had the idea of going fishing.
After a quick search yielded me all the information for freshwater fishing in NJ I needed, I headed down to the local wally mart, purchased my fishing license with a trout endorsement, a 10 dollar rod combo and 3 cans of corn.
I was sitting on Woodcliff Lake in north bergen for about 3 hours, just casting and slowly reeling in, over and over, a few people stopped by asking if I had caught anything, and every time they did, the look of dismay in my face answered my question, after a few more people, two guys passed by with fishing poles, I waved and said hello and they started to conversate with me, one tells me to throw half my can or corn in the water, and since I had to go in a few minutes anyways, I did just that, and cast right where I threw it, not 5 minutes later, I caught my first fresh water fish in 10 years, and my first freshwater fish in NJ, and not to mention my first trout. It was just short of 11".
Well, thats my story. At least now I can't say that buying my trout license was in vain.
Picture to come.
edit: i'll have to add its the North Hudson Park Woodcliff lake, not the one in woodcliff.
