Reel Class Saturday 6/14 Report
« on: June 15, 2008, 09:40:33 AM »
Had Bill Tevlin charter the boat w/ regulars Steve Magyari and George Push. Intended to be a bass then fluke trip.

On some good intel, ran south. Found bunker everywhere, nothing on them. Ranged down as far as Monterey Beach, only to have a few runoffs but no fish.

After several frustrating hours, switched over to fluking, found that to be SLOW...

Got a call there was a bite up off Shark River, so we made the run. Had some bluefish, a couple of bass runoffs and one giant dogfish caught by Steve on a live bunker, fished on the bottom in 60' of water

Very tough day, ran all over the place, fought the boat traffic, just couldn't scratch a catch together

Fish seemed to have moved off after a banner day on Friday, hopefully in a day or two they will be back inshore on the pods.
