I have caught them in August, but don't go by me I don't know what I am doing. I just came across them one day while fluking. Hope to figure it out this year. A lot of fun and I want to find them again.

That world record last month was in rariton bay I think.  Staten Island side. I also heard they were catching them in my marina at night.

Breeders were here in May.  Schooling fish are a different story every single year. 2 years ago it was lights out fishing starting in August.  It lasted until the first big blow we had in Sept. I think it was the 2nd week in Sept if I rememeber correctly.
Last year it was a 2 week go around. Mostly up at the VZ and everyone was tight lipped about the short bite.  Who knows what this year will bring?
Mahi? 6-pack or headboat. Unless your ride is capable of making it 35+ miles off.  Can find them closer but its always a crapshoot inshore.
