Sun June 1st Merrill Creek report
« on: June 03, 2008, 09:06:52 AM »
Met my friend Steve at his house in Riverdale at 3:45 am.We made 2 stops 1 for Live Herring & the other stop for Coffee. We arrived at Merrill Creek at 5:45 am.Steve took us across Merrill Creek and we started drifting.Pretty slow with Stockie action until I hooked up with a 19" Laker. We took 3 more drifts and the wind picked up & we had no other choice but to anchor up.Steve starts chumming & within a half hour we had Lakers around the boat.4 more Lakers were boated. And the 3 lakers we kept went 2.5 lbs,3 lbs,6 lbs.

Pics to follow

At noon we called it quits.

Nice....never fished for lakers, but I bet they are great tasting, as any salmonoid.  Right size too....the ones I've seen caught up in Canada were huge.
