Double Bubble
« on: July 03, 2008, 08:37:24 AM »
Well the fog has kept me in close the last couple days and off of some of my better big fish tube spots. However, the bite has improved greatly this week. Even though we arn't getting real big fish right now we getting some excellent "bluefish free" striper action on the Tube & Worm and Spoon & Worm.

I gotta tell you guys that normally I only use the high visablilty colors such as Bubblegum/Yellow/Orange when the water is stained. But I can't put the bubblegum tube down this season. Today I could not get a fish on the Scarlet tubes but we had a consistant bite on the Bubblegum tube.

I spent a good part of the last 2 mornings fishing waters from 20-30ft deep dragging the tubes and spoons with 2 ounce weights on the keels and about 150ft of braid out behind the boat. It's been a decent bits and a load of fun with some great guys on the boat with me.

The best part of chartering is always when you get a client on great fish, but I just really enjoy meeting the people and having a good laugh with them too!

Anyway the bite is picking up on the reefs from the CT River to the Thames and should only get better as the days pass.
