Shrewsbury Rocks
« on: June 28, 2008, 08:13:26 PM »
Ive heard people talking about catching big fluke at the Shrewsbury Rocks but ive never been there before. Does anyone know about this spot or if its worth it to go there out of atlantic highlands?

   Thanks

My opinion, Yes, it is worth the trip. If you don't get fluke, you can get sea bass, striped bass, blue fish and when in season, false albies, bonito and a few other species.  t^

One thing though, BRING A LOT OF RIGSTT^

You can also stop at the Sandy Hook reef, which is just before you get to the rocks. Same deal there with the fishing.

Worth it yes.
Plenty of rigs yes.
Run South outside the hook, you'll pick it up on your GPS or charts.

Absolutely worth it.
I'm always very happy when the AH party boats are willing to make the trip  ;)

that is usually my last season best spot for Fluke.  i drift the edge of the rocks, best part is, you can also drift stripers there at the same time and also pick up nice C-bass all in the same spot.

Rox are great b/c they extend from like 15 to like 50 feet of water.  There are so  many nooks and crannies for Mambo fluke to hold that you have a good shot at getting a bruiser. Also, the Rattlesnake... another renowened spot... lies in 65 feet, east of the rox.
