Wheel chair accessable fishing piers
« on: July 10, 2008, 12:57:10 PM »
My family and I love to go fishing, but we are limited to pier fishing. My mother is in wheel chair and she loves to fish but the only place I know to take her is Belmar Marina for Fluke.

They have a pier that she can wheel onto without any problem and fish from, but all we seem to catch is seaweed. Can anyone give me more locations to take her in NJ. She would need a place with easy access to the pier. We would greatly appreciate it.

Casino Pier is a good choice for the ocean.  If you like the bay Seaside Heights has two piers and both should be wheel chair accessible.  You would have to look at them though there are no railings on the bay piers but they are free with good parking surfaces.

welcome to the site.. I agree with the Casino Pier.. I am down there quite often and see nice catches from there.. I personally don't fish the pier.
Fish out of Toms River NJ.
Call Nick for open boat, 973-417-5756, or on Channel 68.

Give some thought to calling the Dept.Fish,Game and Wildlife, maybe their public relations liason has more info  which would include the entire state. Please post when you find out. Good Luck.
