Man, do I got magazines
« on: July 22, 2008, 02:06:48 PM »
So, voracious reader that I am, I have been subscribing to multiple mags. for many years.. Outdoor  Life, Field & Stream, Sports Afield, Petersons' Hunting, Saltwater Sportsman Bowhunter, In-fisherman, Guns & Ammo, the Fisherman, ..The list goes on.. Also being a packrat I have never thrown any out..Now, I'm  up to my eyeballs in back issues...Hundreds of them... So, I would like to find a good home for them. Ideally I would like to send them to our troops, or any other worthy recipients, but I'm not sure who to contact about giving these away.. Anyone have any ideas?  5hrug

I would try the MWR (Moral, Welfare and Recreation) office at Fort Dix  Phone: 609-562-3353 Fax: 609-562-2354 HOURS OF OPERATION
Mon-Fri, 8am-4:30pm

or NWS Earle....they should be able to steer you right

Found a website that takes magazines for frontline troops and wounded veterans in the hospital.  They look legit, but I would make sure.  Only googled them and found this:

http://soldiersangels.org/index.php?page=donating-items

Also, lots of people said to contact the USO at www.uso.org

Found another website closer to home.  There are right in Franklinville, NJ, just southwest of Hammonton.

YW...nice of you to donate them to the troops!  I am sure there are tons of fishermen overseas and in hospital beds who would love to read about fishing, even though they aren't able to do it right now!!!

Mark Treebeard, What a cool idea. Please post when you donate and maybe some of us can do something similar with our stacks of mags.
Look forward to your post. Good Luck, AJ.
