Anyone use Gulp for freshwater??
« on: August 13, 2008, 11:48:46 AM »
Since the gulp is so successful in saltwater, has anyone had any luck with it in freshwater??  My brother in law wants to go catfishing in the near future and I see they have a full line of catfish baits...just wondering if they work as good as the real thing??  I am also interested in any of the other popular freshwater baits as well.

Thanks in advance!

I haven't targeted Cats with it yet, but I've had good luck on Smallmouths and Walleyes with the 3" minnows on jigheads and have had a few "accidental" hookups on small Channels on them.  I'm willing to bet the Cat formulas would work nice, as it's all about the stink with the Gatoes. As for other baits, hard to beat FRESH Herring, Shad, or other oily fish chunks. While I have not used them, I'm sure they would love a fresh peanut bunker.   chrz
