NOAA weather, it is on our home page here. I also check the Belmar cam. You can get a general idea of what the ocean looks like. It is deceiving at times though. Looks good on the cam, but can be rougher than it appears on the cam.

The most accurate weather I check is...taking a ride to the ocean and seeing for myself!

There have been days where the ocean would have been ideal for fishing but the weather report made it sound like big seas and no way to get out. There are also days where the weather forcast said 10-15 knot winds and you have steady 20-25s.

If you are not too far, always best to ride down and check it out yourself. Use the weather sites as a guide only.

Coming from PA, it's a 1.5 hr ride so I am going to have to rely on reports!

Thanks for the sites-

D.

Can't blame you there. Also, if you make friends with someone at your dock who is a local, perhaps a phone call would be a big help.  t^

If your driving that far, and then face water thats too rough for your liking, then just stay in the river.

Yeah, I have that site plus others I use but just by going there just now I noticed that the wind is out of the ENE if there is any good time to go out it is now especially with a cold front coming in later today.

Good Luck

hey, i been fishing with a 16' aluminum boat with a 9.9hp on it to go into the bays.  i've been using these sites to decide if i should go out.  i live about hour and a half as well, plus im trailering the boat.  i use the combo of these site and its been pretty reliable.
