Yup, seems they want boats that discharge ANY type of water to have a permit. This includes bilge water and water that is used to cool your engine. That, making ALL POWER BOATS fit into the catagory of needing a permit.

Original intention was for ships coming in from foreign ports so they did not pump organisms or other things that would be harmful to our waters.

Several organizations, including BoatUS, trying to fight this.

 I read somewhere permit will be between 800 and 1,000 bucks a year! I need better lubricant. Getting screwed to often!! 5hrug

Interesting!!  Whomever proposed this law didn't have enough common sense and education to make sure that when it was written and challenged in the court that it would not affect recreational boaters?!?!  cfzd
