By the time "The List" was complete it was getting to late afternoon on Saturday but we headed out anyway. After reading the reports and an unproductive impromptu Weds evening trip, the Fisher Queen and I decided the usual spots inside would be a waste of precious time so headed around the Hook. Greeted with some 2-3' rollers and a bit of a ESE blow. Made some drifts anyways at the edges of the SH channel, by the towers, Swash, and down almost to the Highlands Bridge, and picked at last years keepers, with a bunch of garbage fish mixed in. Got dark too fast, so headed back empty handed again. Total tally about 20 shorts with 14 over 17". Squid, killies, smelt, and robbin strips
all produced (shorts.)
