Headed out with my son, dad, and friend's grandfather. On the way out near Chapel Hill Channel there were birds diving and bluefish jumping all over. I stopped and let my con cast a crocodile a couple of times. He hooked up on every cast and we had fun watching him battle with 3-5 pounders on light spinning tackle. We kept five to give away to friends who eat them and headed out to Ambrose. There wasn't much happening out there except for tons of sea robins and shorts and skates, but we did manage 2 keepers. We needed 12 oz to barely hold and decided to move off the beach. That's when the wind picked up and we were drifting at about 3 knots. We tried a couple of spots, but couldn't come up with any more keepers. On the way in we spotted the bluefish again near the Hook and banged some more. Not much for dinner, but those who eat blues had a treat on Monday. We just beat the storms back to the dock, but got wet pulling out. The blues spit out a bunch of peanuts into the cooler.
