Water Spout

Hey guys, is a water spout the same thing as a tornado, just basically over the water? Or is it completely different?

I never did read anything on the news or weather sites indicating what these were in the Barnegat Bay. I wasn't home, so I never got to look at the radar either.

i was watching a show a few years ago and they said that fish can be picked up in a water spout and travel up to 10 miles inland in the clouds and then it rains fish.

Too bad it didn't rain a nice big striper or wakfish or a bunch of fluke on my front lawn!!
