Irish Ayes fluking 8-17
« on: August 17, 2008, 06:17:38 PM »
Had Bob Cole, Andy, JohnnyOz, Lou and George on board today. Left the inlet late as I had to go back to the garage at the trailer and get my fluke poles. Forgot I took them off the boat for the trolling trip last week. Oh dopey me.

I did remember Pop's Soul's report from yesterday and decided to fish Squid Head. We boxed five nice keepers on the first drift there. Things slowed down considerably when the wind stopped blowing. Power drifted and JohnnyOz hook up with a 23" fluke. The wind again picked up and the power drifting was no longer needed.

Started picking at a few more keepers and finished the day with twelve keepers with the largest being 24"s, caught by Lou.

Keeper to throwback ratio is improving immensely. Probably down to three or four throw back for every keeper. A lot of fluke in the 17 inch class. Many just short of being legal.

Will be out again Tuesday.  t^

Great day out there. Aggravating when you realize you left someting so important back home. At least you didn't break the inlet and then remember  TT^
