Had Rich Comly aboard with his wife Toni, their nephew Scott, and his girlfriend Becky.
Initially ran north to a few lumps we've been picking some nice fish on. First rig in the water had a fish on in 30 seconds, a nice 19" keeper. Kiss of death Thereafter, we had a slow but steady pick of short fluke with 1 more keeper in the mix, before the W winds dropped out and we lost the drift.
Ran offshore to a few more lumps, then fished 2 wrecks even further off, to only find a couple more shorts and more skates.
Ran back inshore, found a wind against tide, so we caught even more skates. Got a call from my buddy Ant on the Angela Rose at around 1PM that he had a fair pick going to our south, so we ran another 6 miles back the other way, and had immediate action with mostly keeper sized fluke with a healthy mix of shorts as well. Fish were right on the edge of a big high profile wreck.
Wound up with about 30 fluke for the day, 7 keepers, topped by Rich's "whistle fish" of 22"/3#. The other 6 keepers were 18.5-20".
Tough day, overall a slow pick, hopefully in a few days things will bounce back after the full moon's affects go away.
