Made a short trip out to the park this evening with the wife and dog.
Fished for 1-2 hours around low tide at sunset.
Quiet a few people out in the short stretch of beach we travelled, but not too bad.  Went on at A7 and parked around A12.
Saw Ken out there relaxing alone like he said he wanted to do.  i didn't have the heart to disturb him, so we kept going past and left him to enjoy the evening.
Water was clear, but loaded with trash, seaweed and sea walnuts.  Kept getting the little jellies and weed jammed in the tip guide while reeling in.  Pretty good wind out of the east and no flies.
Anyway....the fishing.....I got a robin and lost a fluke as it hit the beach.  But more importantly, the wife got her very first fish, a short fluke.  She was very excited. Asked if I was jealous....I told her I was happy for her and would be jealous if she had gotten a keeper, but I would have eaten it anyway.  Bait of choice was Gulp mullet in chartreuse and Gulp shrimp.
All in all it was a nice evening on the beach.

Great report!  2 fluke and a searobin isn't too bad for the surf lately!  Stinks when the woman outfish you, but it is bound to happen.

Actually, for me, it is the same as taking the kids fishing b/c my wife has never fished before.  I have to teach her and show her, so when she caught her first largemouth bass, it was exciting!

Keep pounding the beach and the suds!!

You should have stopped by,I was just chillin.I think I made it out there around 5 or so and left about 3am. A few people did stop by, but the group I was suposed to meet up with never showed.

here is a pic of a searobin I caught from 300 yards out, lol. Greedy bugger, took what ever the blue fish left on my hook. He said it was a long haul in and he needed a smoke. I figured he earned it.

As the night went on and the tide moved in so did the garbage, and weeds. This making things very difficult to fish. There was alot of bluefish on the otherside of the bar,my baits were big and had 10/0 hooks. I could feel my rod pulsating hard, but they were not big enough to take the hook. It was difficult to get threw them. Did you ever see a fat kid anilate a container of Pringles, thats what it was like. Once they popped they couldnt stop. I was beginning to think my shot at a big shark was out of the question........
So here I am sitting there feeding bluefish, cause I have nothing better to do,and I'm a nice guy. I'm playing with my phone, online talkin with chicks on myspace, and I hear the most amazing sound ever.DRAG JUST RIPPIN. I drop my phone in my chair, grab my rod,and it on. I am up on him,and things are lookin good. This fish has got fight in him,he starts running north so I follow.

Now reality sets in for me...... I'm all alone,I'm thinking how am I going to do this by myself. I am still up on him,its been 15 minutes now,and I go to turn my head lamp on.... What head lamp, I left it with the myspace chicks in my chair. At this point I'm in trouble, but I'm making progress gaining line. So I figured I would try to make it to my light. So I slowly started south, after about 15 steps this fish said see ya .ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ GONE.......  >:(    So if someone catches a shark with a 10/0 Owner circle hook with 300yards of braid and about 25 yards of mono, can I have my line back.LOL. I'm sure people heard me cursing for miles, lol. I hurried to get out more baits on other poles, and nothing. I had my shot and blew it rgmn rgmn. They are still there.

Yo Kenny... I got back from the boat late, which is why you didn't see me at the beach, but I heard you ran into my brother down there.

More action than I saw that night. All I got was a bunch of seaweed until around 330 when the water cleared up and then I still caught nothing.
