August 30 Fluke & Seabass - Sandy Hook Reef
« on: September 02, 2008, 01:27:15 PM »
Fished the SH reef this past Saturday with some friends and family aboard the Sykk Physh. We left out of the Highlands and the weather was pretty snotty, but we stuck it out and boated 7 keeper fluke and 2 sea bass by lunch time. We probably landed between 50-60 shorts and about a dozen of them were between 17-1/2" and 18". Almost all of them were caught on killies and squid. The fishing was great in the morning and then turned off right around noon time. Hopefully the weather will hold off so I can get in one more quality fluke trip before the season ends.

Here's a pic of the biggest one we caught  ;D
