Season's last RB Fluke trip 9/2
« on: September 03, 2008, 10:56:40 AM »
Made the last Tuesday trip on the JP II from Seawaren.....left the dock at 7 AM  and went straight to the 14 bouy of the Reach....last two hours or so of the incoming with a NW wind....couple of nice fish boated as we worked down to the 10 buoy.....saw the Capt. J out of KP fishing tight to SI in NY waters...wassup with that?..... NY season is closed....taking a chance?; or just not aware of the closed season in NY?

Tide slackened and wind died down......picked up with  the outgoing  and slight shift of the wind coming out of the SW.

Not a fluke fest, but there were a dozen or so keepers caught including a couple of 4+ lbers and a nice 6.2 lb pool winner. Back at the dock at 3:05PM

I left with a nice dinner fish of 20".......sorry to see the season coming to an end....taking my grandsons out fishing the afternoon trip today in the "ocean" out of PP....keeping a promise, although I think RB is a better choice.

Must have done a 1/2 weakfish trip in NY and 1/2 fluke trip as he joined us in the NJ Reach side later in the AM
