Met MBOY (aka Mike) at 6:30 am.
We headed to the 20 rock pile in the reach.
Dropped anchor close to the rocks and Started catching Porgies,Sea Bass,Blackfish right away using sandworms.
3 times the anchor slipped so we decided to make a move & go Fluke Fishing.
Took a few drifts in the Reach and caught Short Fluke and Cocktail Blues.
Made another move east to SH channel & no one was home.We decided to make another move to the Bug Light and boated more short Fluke.Set up again on the same drift & boated a 12" weakfish.Next drift I hook up with peeler.My Chaos stick was doubled over.I tell Mike get the net ready.My heart starts pumping because I knew I had something big.I turn to Mike & said forget the net this thing is big.Mike gets the gaff ready & finally up comes this huge Cow nose ray.Mike gaffs the Cow nose ray and I remove the hook and off goes the ray.Made a few more drifts and we missed 2 more rays.At 1:30 pm we called it a day.
Not a bad way to spend a Friday.
