Fish Monger 9/2 marathon fluke report
« on: September 02, 2008, 09:15:26 PM »
Headed out today for a marathon open. plan was to fish south around axel c reef. Made three drifts and picked only one keeper. headed to s.g. reef, no bites 3 drifts.

Was some se swell

Steamed 12 miles north tried one in 40 ft no good.

No swell though

By  1100 only 1 keeper

Headed out to some rocky stuff in 55 ft. Started picking a few fish here and there but they quality keepers. kept pounding small patches getting a few keepers now and again on bucktails.

Did this for the rest of the day and wound up with 23 keepers, BUT WE PUT IN ONE LONG DAY AND ALOT OF MILES TO GET THEM.

Guys worked real hard for all our fish today.

CONGRATS TO GREG VONGAS FOR LANDING HIS LIMIT TODAY t^ t^ t^ and Willie who stuck with it to ens with 4 nice keepers. Joe jigamafish jigged up 4 keepers.

Biggest fish was 6lbs.

Supposed to fish thur but will have to see with the weather.

Thanks guys

Nice catch Capt Jerry, as usual. Every trip seems to be getting harder and harder to find the keepers.  :P

Some here and some there all add up to a good catch at the end of the day.  t^
