Yeah, at this point no one knows what the effects will be.  It is better to get your stuff in order or at least start a check list for your boat that you can at least jog your memory as what has to be done before the storm hits.

Like:

Stowing all non essential gear on land

Put out extra bumpers

Set up spring lines properly

Check batteries to make sure they aer fully charged

Clear the bilge of any debris so it does not clog up intake of your pump or pumps

I am sure there are other things but you get the idea.

If you remember what happened to Bound Brook years ago back the same thing could happen again.  Tons of rain caused by a cold front hitting the warm tropical storm = a tremendous amount of rain.

Good Luck

Paul

hanna might be weakening a bit.  she seems to be experiencing some upper-level shear that should keep the lid on any further intensification.

i'd be keeping my eye on ike, further out in the atlantic.  he's got potential to be a biggie.

as an aside, nc state has it's football home opener in raleigh on saturday.  should coincide nicely with the arrival of hanna.  nc state football and tropical systems seem to go hand in hand.  this is something like the 5th home opener in the last seven or eight that will be affected by some sort of tropical weather system.  oh yeah, the team sucks, too. :(

I was gonna sprinkle some boat wash on it too, might as well have mother nature make it shiny too.  ;D

I know that the storms seem far away and things are happening that seem to be affecting Hanna but the consensus is that the front that is sheering Hanna now will pass to her south allowing the storm to become a hurricane before slamming into SC.

The other two might not be a problem as they are saying Ike will go west and pass over Fla and into the Gulf whereas Johanna will become a fish storm heading more north and out to the middle of the Atlantic.

Be careful what you wish for Rugman.

Good Luck

Paul
