Highlands Area Places to Fish??
« on: September 06, 2008, 10:23:22 PM »
Anyone know any good places, besides SH, to fish in the Bay in the Highlands area??  I am not familiar with the area at all, so any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

I am sure Captain Bob will jump right on this when he sees it.

I haven't fished that area in more than 10 years so I can't be of any help, sorry.

by boat, ANY of those channels out there.. The Reach will probably be your must productive bet.
Fish out of Toms River NJ.
Call Nick for open boat, 973-417-5756, or on Channel 68.

Sorry, should have clarified...from shore.  Any good docks or areas to fish along the shore, besides SH, that you know of??  If not SH is always a good option.

Thanks

When you fish Sandy Hook do not over look the Bay side from Plum island to the Bridge Weakies and Stripers.

Leonardo Beach from the NAvy Pier to est of Leonard Ave Stripers/Blues

Belford beach...go down Main St (Belford) to end go into Ferry tErm Parking, walk out onto Beach....Catch Tog/ Sea Bass/Stripers near the rock pile.....Stripers and Blues from Rock Pile down to Navy Pier (going East)

Port Monmouth Fishing Pier Take Wilson Ave off Rt 36 to end make a left on its on right....Stripers/Blues/Weakies (JErsey Joes Hot  Dogs is accross the St, Best Italian Hot Dogs)

All Along the BEach in North Middletwon Striper/Weaks/Blues

Keansburg Fishing Pier

All Along the Shore in Union Beach

All along the Shore in Lawrence Harbor

Hope it helps TT^

Capt Bob...thanks so much for the info!  It certainly helped.  I am not familiar with MonCo at all.  I will look all those locations up and give them a shot.  My brother-in-law should know pretty much where they are.  He is from Highlands and wants to do some Bay fishing.  This is going to be a 1st or 2nd for him.  He is into freshwater more.  So, I figured, instead of pounding the shore where I always fish, I would change it up and go up to him and try some spots!

Thanks again!
