Sea Hawk bottomfishing reports 9/10-11
« on: September 12, 2008, 12:35:52 PM »
The Sea Hawk out of Perth Amboy started bottom fishing on Wednesday. They moved around alot picking away at porgies and seabass. They also had a few keeper blackfish. TT^ A decent start, but no lights out fishing.

Yesterday they did a little better with an average of 10-15 porgies per person, some seabass in the mix too, but alot of shorts. Some throwback tog as well.

They're out again today picking away at the porgies and seabass.

They will not be sailing open on Saturday as they are chartered, but will be on Sunday. They are also carrying green crabs for those so inclined to try and catch their limit of 1 tog. TT^

The porgies have been a bit off the bottom so making the sinker drop a bit longer and/or hanging a top hook up real high is key to catching more. Believe they have worms along with clams for bait provided. grtn

Just spoke with Capt Mike again while they're on their way in. Porgy fishing improved with some onboard getting 20-30 keepers each. chrz Some seabass in the mix and one stray keeper blackfish as well TT^
