Head out of Keyport for a short trip. Water was 71 deg and choppy, Weather was In the low 70's and mixed sun and clouds. Left dock around 11AM and noticed some guys trolling and jigging with many birds around but the birds were scattered around and not in a frenzy. I started casting out a diamond jig with a white tube with no success. I was in 12' of water with no readings on the fishfinder. I decided to troll around with the jigs on 2 lightweight poles. I set up a trolling pattern on the GPS and started getting hits by pretty big blues between 7 and 10 pounds.
After all was done I wound up with six released blues and got back to the dock at 2pm.
Not a bad day while waiting for the STRIPERS to show up.
