09/13 Upper NY Harbour Report
« on: September 13, 2008, 02:43:14 PM »
Jason and I hit our favorite local snapper spot for a few hours this morning. Arrived about 3 hours into the outgoing tide. Few bites early with Jason getting 2 snappers and 1 small bass. I had 2 snappers. Once the tide dropped some more we donned our boots and proceded to pick about half a 5 gallon bucket worth of fiddler crabs. Jason decided we wanted to fish a new spot while I gathered another 3-4 dozen fiddlers. He caught a few more snappers and a spike weakfish (so he caught bluefish, bass & weakfish today  t^). I joined him for a more casts & added another snapper to my total.

Fiddlers will be used for sea bass/blackfish tomorow.

I was out motoring around the GW bridge to calibrate my AP and I saw a tons of rain fish and snappers cahsing em around. I saw some good markings on my fishfinder.  They were all heading down river...the lower bay should come alive in a few days...
