need to find some snapper blues
« on: October 11, 2008, 09:03:38 AM »
My 8y/o nephew got a rod/reel for his birthday and now Uncle Chris has to take him out to try it.  I want to give him the best shot at landing something....anything so he'll want to go again.
I'm thinking snappers or freshwater for sunnys.
Has anyone seen decent numbers of snappers at Mantaloking, Toms River, Berkley Island, Seaside piers recently?
Thanks

Thanks guys.
Decided to try the freshwater thing for the first time out.  We'll see how it goes in the morning.

Well we gave it a good try, but my record remains intact.
Went the freshwater route over in Toms River.
Got nothing, but the kid had a great time anyway and wants to go again soon.
And for a first timer his age, he did a great job of casting, which I was worried about.

Glad he had a good time!  Stinks you didn't find any fish!  Good luck next time.

Congratulations on your fun day! t^

With kids, it ain't always about the catching.  My daughter has a great time whenever we go.  She just love to chuck and wind (just like her Dad)! ;D
