I have been asked to help out with how I find all these great fishing spots from my kayak,Well I didn't always use my kayak to find great kayak fishing spots, I have always said if I could only fly from one end of the state to the other, I would be able to see what the coast line and marsh areas look like, then go fish them, well now we can all fly with the help of Goggle Earth, This is a web site that will allow you to see what you never knew was even there,I will print up page after page like the one below over the winter, then sit and find areas that look like they would have a good out flow of water with and out going tide,Then I will find areas that are easy to put the kayak into the water, then take the kayak with the depth finder and start finding my bass spots, trust me when I say all areas of the bay are loaded with, mullet, spearing, bay anchovies and baby bunker. Last week I was out with some guys who never been out kayaking we were just out for some fresh air and out of the house time. I put the depth finder on the kayak, we just stayed close to home going up and down some lagoons, well at the end of the lagoon was a marsh area with water from 3 feet to about 5 then for about 100 yards it was about 2 feet with a muddy bottom,at the end was a little bay that no one has been but for the use of a kayak well in the center the water was 10-15 feet, I was back that night with fishing rod in hand. They are not big fish, but it was worth the time of fishing this new hot spot.
I hope this will open the door for some of you looking for your kayak fishing hot spot, its that easy.
