Hadn't been out in awhile, but learned the JP II from Seawaren began making Sunday and Tuesday trips, so I made it to the dock at 6:30....it looked like I was going to be the only one, until just about 7 when two more showed up.
Left the dock with only 3 regulars....guess Capt. John wanted to fish today.
Headed out to the ammo pier and drifted worms around the area for about an hour or so...nada on the weakies...saw some of the head boats working the CG station inside the hook......don't know how they did, but when we went to check the area out, the fleet started breaking up, so I guess whatever bite was on stopped at the tide change.
Left the area and headed out for the concrete barge area near the Verrazano where we anchored up and had a ball drop and reeling porgies on worms and clams.
Snotty conditions but great to be out and feeling the wiggle on the end of the line.
Got some nice boneless scup fillets. "Super George" the mate is like a surgeon when he fillets these tasty fish.
Back at the dock at 3:30...looking forward to next Tuesday....hope some more regulars come out.
