Calling upon your generosity here! This was posted on another forum that I browse through for reading pleasure. I emailed the poster and she gave me permission to cross post here. I don't personally know the child or mother...just caught my attention. I know times are tough everywhere...I also know how expensive fishing can be. I was fortunate to have the ability as a kid to fish with my father and now do the same with my boys.
"My daughter just attended an educational event held by a local Surf Anglers Group. She wants to start saltwater fishing but does not have any gear. I'm a single mom and can only do so much. Does anyone have any old saltwater gear that they can donate? We're by Sandy Hook."
Looks like she is set for a rod and reel from posts on the other list. If anyone has anything extra lying around that you don't use or have extra items you make(rigs, teasers, etc..) and would be willing to donate them, I know it would be appreciated. I am willing to pick the items up and either deliver them or ship them if needed...whatever is needed!
