Raritan Bay striper/blues
« on: November 12, 2008, 09:02:52 PM »
Headed out of Sayerville this morning around 630. Trolled the channel going to and leaving Princess Bay...had some nice marks but was only able to pull up 3 short stripers on the troll with white shads. Didn't stay to long because it was such a calm morning and thought I would find some bird action...Headed to the hook and visited the fleet..again some nice marks but no takers...went on a little troll towards Breezy pt...about half way there we see some bird action with some surface popping..We are the only boat around and pick up a double header of small bass...a little later a bass/blue double header... These bass were shorts and released... Later, in the same area we encountered an all bass blitz... it was short lived as some charter captain took his 6 man crew barreling right threw...my waving arms to no avail!!! ----off! That was it. He killed the blitz! Overall a great, calm day on the water...all action towards the hook...nothing in the back yet. Lots of blues!

Nice report and pics.  t^

It's amazing how some people don't have a clue. A charter boat captain should absolutely know better than that.  nosmly

to bad about the skunk Kez, gettem next time!  The birds I was on were alot smaller bunch then the ones off the hook oceanside.  There were hundreds of birds over there but i had no luck workin those.  They didn'ts seem to be on the feed, just makin noise?  5hrug
