Mercruiser Winterizing
« on: December 05, 2008, 03:19:45 PM »
Hi all  ;D,

I've been keeping the boat warm hoping for some chances to get out. Can anyone recommend a shop or traveling mechanic to winterize?

Thanks!

Woodstock, I assume that  motor is fresh water cooled as I owned one. The block is protected with regular automotive type anti-freeze. On nights that continuously drop into the 20's,and daytime temps only reach the mid 30's,  you must drain that heat exchanger or it can crack.
