Decided to take advantage of the warmer weather yesterday and hooked up with McKee17 and "Duke" from the JPII for a day of toggin.

Knew the forecast was for breezy conditions but with the holidays coming this was the last shot until after the New Year for me.

Originally reserved a 6:30 spot on a non-sponsor out of the Manasquan inlet, but the Capt was a no-show...bummer....left quite few disappointed fisherman still waiting when we headed over to Belmar make a 7:30 where two of the three tog boats planned to make it out....the most popular boat didn't make it out presumably because of the forecast of a blow

Conditions were quite challenging, but there was a slow pick of tog on the first 4 drops....I had two keeps, one going about 5 lbs, when the capt hit a final drop and the chewing started in the back of the boat....Capt dropped back on the anchor....saw the high hook limit out within 15 minutes to the point that he was fishing for friends....he had a nice fish break off....saw a corner guy nail a big female and then my time came for my personal best blackfish, a nice big male that had the high hook's leader in it's stomach.....we didn't weigh it but it was in the 10 lb range..........pic attached with the "high hook's" leader clearly visible.

Nice way to finish the 2008 season for me...enjoyed the company of members of this site.....fish was tied for the $5 pool...corner guy's fish just beat out this fish for the $10 pool.
