Dave Brown, Andy and I arrived at the J2 at 405 this morning. We met CaptBob who was already there. Fishin Dude arrived shortly thereafter.
The boat left the dock at 5am and motored NE after clearing the inlet.
Made our first drop at around 7.
Andy was the first to hook up bringing in a sweet cod. Very nice fish. As he was bringing in this fish I was busy bringing in a limp line from my first break off.
Thereafter, it was a slow pick of ling. Several other cod were brought aboard today, but none as large as Andy's.
High hook for the ling today in our group was Fishin Dude Darren. I was runner up in the ling category.
Dave Brown and CaptBob were neck and neck with the endangered spiney dogfish. It's a good thing these thing are endangered or there would be absolutely no room for any other fish in the ocean if there were even two more dog fish on scene.
The weather held up for us today as we had no rain and only a slight breeze. It was overcast all day and the fog showed up in the afternoon. Never did see the sun today. The temperature was fairly warm for this time of year.
The boat docked at 5pm. What a long day on the water.
And Andy's first fish of the day held up for the pool winner.
Had a good time fishing with good people.
Sorry for the lousy picture but the lighting at the dock was poor. Hopefully Fishin Dude's pics came out better.
