Water pump??????
« on: January 19, 2009, 09:53:52 PM »
God this is a dumb question. But alas, where is the water pump located on a 1989 Merc Black Max 150.

I'm not asking for a pinpoint location, but a general area to look in.

Here I am a diesel mechanic asking where a water pump is, I should be shot.

Just trying to cut a few corners before I get into the maintenance this winter.

Thanks in advance.

You drop the lower unit, Out comes the shaft.  the water pump sits on top of the lower unit where the shaft enters.  A very simple job to replace t^

..that is, unless, the bolts are salt-seized and snap in two when you try to remove them. Then not so simple.

Nice video. I plan on doing my Honda 225 outboard. I wonder if it is the same procedure?
Any thoughts or ideas?
