the long winter
« on: February 20, 2009, 09:00:00 AM »
get a few warm days and you think about getting started getting your boat and fishing gear ready.then wake up this morning with another winter blast nosmly, want to get outside and get the cover off the boat and get started, actually called this week to make plans to get the boat in the shop in a couple weeks for some repairs.still to cold outside for me,I know the warm weathers on the way,but this winter seems so long, maybe it's because of the mild winters we had the previous couple of years.I'm itching at the bit to get out there,I'm sure a lot you share the same feeling. come on spring time.  Kez

I feel your pain...

I am so ready for this season to start that I have cleaned and lubed all my reels checked the rods for nicks and re coated those that needed it, re reeled in other words flipped my braid around as I bought new last year.  Have tied a few dozen teasers, picked up some new plugs and metal to try.  Now if only good 'ol Mother Nature would only cooperate.

I have a few more paintings to complete but the calling to be outside is getting greater every day.  I was hoping to get out today with the camera but the wind here has picked up and is blowing hard with gusts as high as 30 mph so far.  Not a good day to be in a blind on the bay waiting for some birds to show.

Happy catching

Paul
