Line stripping?

Easiest methods for stripping line off conventional reels? I don't want to manually pull it off. Need a fast method. ???

a variable speed drill with trigger lock at any speed is key - my makita 10mm corded drill works well for this

make an drill arbor for an empty spool of line with a dowel or similar- i even used duct tape as needed

set the drill on slow until you get the hang of stripping then you can speed it up some...

you gotta thumb the reel or it will rat'snest

The Berkely gadget works well also. Just put the clicker on.

I have a couple of those Berkley strippers also.  They work pretty well.

Err... line strippers that is! ;D

Thats how i get rid of my sacks of fish racks!   hhppy   .. but seriously..  If you can find a tackle shop going out of biz or upgrading their linewinder, that would be a great score.. not only for stripping, but they really make installing line properly on spinning or conventional reels a breeze.. I got this one when my buddy closed his shop.. New they are big $$, but you can often get'em right if you look around..  chrz

Drill a 1/4" hole in a plastic bottle cap. Then fasten a 1/4" machine screw and nut to the hole with the longer side facing the outside of the plastic bottle.  Insert the bolt into a drill with the bottle attached and use this wide diameter bottle in the drill to strip the line.
Total cost is less than a dollar.
